The client experienced a common problem of what do with a walking stick when needing the use of both hands when out and about - e.g. in a shop, library etc. Sometimes there is no convenient place to rest it against, or hook it on so it won't fall over. A weighted turned wooden ferrule was devised, and mounted at a slight angle to counterbalance the handle.
